Custom Handbag OEM/ODM Production Process
Discover how Katehandbag brings your designs to life through meticulous production, quality control, and expert craftsmanship.
Production Process
1. Sample Development & Material Sourcing
We start every OEM/ODM project from your tech pack or a reference sample. First samples take about two weeks after materials and hardware are confirmed. Typical programmes start at 500 pieces per style. Fashion PU programmes are usually FOB USD 8–12; leather and more complex constructions are quoted after we see the spec.
High-Quality Materials
From leather to vegan options and specialized fabrics, we offer a wide range of materials to suit your needs.
Hardware Selection
We carefully select hardware, such as zippers and buckles, that complements the design and enhances functionality.
Material Inspection
Every batch undergoes thorough quality checks to ensure it meets our standards before production begins.
2. Precision Manufacturing & Craftsmanship
Our production floor combines digital cutting with hand finishing on critical details. Every handbag undergoes precise 3-layer edge painting, heavy-duty hardware fixation, and clean structural stitching with continuous in-line quality checks.
Precision Cutting
Using custom patterns, materials are cut with precision to ensure uniformity across the batch.
Edge Painting
We carefully apply edge paint to exposed edges for a refined finish and added durability. This step not only enhances the bag’s aesthetic but also protects it from wear and tear.
Hardware Attachment
Metal components such as rivets, buckles, and studs are securely attached, ensuring they are both functional and aligned with the bag’s design. Our team meticulously checks each piece for stability and placement.
Assembly and Stitching
Our team assembles each component with attention to detail, ensuring strong and clean stitching.
On-the-Spot Inspections
Supervisors conduct regular checks during production to catch any potential issues early, maintaining high quality throughout.
Bag Assembly
In this final assembly stage, all parts come together to form the complete handbag. Our artisans carefully align and secure each section, creating a cohesive and high-quality product that meets our clients’ expectations.
3. Rigorous Quality Control
Quality is the cornerstone of Katehandbag. We inspect incoming materials, run line checks, and inspect every finished bag. We run zipper and handle fatigue tests. We work to BSCI social-compliance reviews, plus EU REACH and California Prop 65 chemical limits on request. If you book a third-party inspector, we receive them at the Huadu factory after finishing QC.
Visual Inspection
Each handbag is carefully inspected to ensure uniformity in color, accuracy in stitching, and precision in finishing details.
Functional Testing
All hardware is tested, including zippers, pulls, and magnetic closures.
Inspection and factory audits
If you book SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or your own QC, we receive the inspector at the Huadu factory. Write kate@katehandbag.com a few days ahead for a factory audit or a BSCI social-compliance review.
4. Custom Packaging & Global Delivery
We pack with scratch-proof dust bags, custom logo debossing, and barcode hangtags. Bulk is usually about two months FOB Shenzhen or Guangzhou after the sample and materials are confirmed. Air and sea freight are both available. Payment is T/T: deposit to start, balance before the goods leave.
Protective Packaging
Each handbag is carefully packaged to prevent damage during transit. We use high-quality materials to ensure protection.
Brand Customization
If requested, we add branding elements like custom tags, logos, or labels to enhance your brand’s identity.
Assurance Documentation
Each shipment includes detailed quality assurance documentation, providing clients with transparency and confidence in every order.
5. Payment, shipping, and factory audits
These are the working terms buyers usually ask for before they place bulk.
Payment
We work on T/T. A deposit starts the bulk order. The balance is due before the goods leave. The split is written on the PI.
Bulk lead time and ports
After the sample is approved and materials are confirmed, bulk is usually about two months, FOB Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Air and sea are both available.
Third-party inspection
If you book SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or your own QC, we receive the inspector at the Huadu factory. Tell us the date after finishing QC. We prepare cartons, packing list, and a working table.
